Day 5 – Construction Progress Library

The progress on the outside of the building is now clearly visible. The walls have been built up to the height of the future windows, making the shape of the library increasingly recognizable.

The volunteers’ workday ended with a delicious lunch. Our heartfelt thanks go to SAN Livestock for providing tasty fried chicken for all the volunteers.

Pictured are the four parents who successfully completed today’s work. Their dedication and commitment are greatly appreciated. Thanks to the combined efforts of the volunteers, parents, and the school community, the library moves one step closer to completion every single day.

Sir Antonio Cobarrubias shared that Sir Jonathan Orias suggested asking the parents to bring bamboo. As the walls have now reached a considerable height and suitable scaffolding materials were not available, it was decided to construct a temporary bamboo scaffold. This will allow the volunteers to continue building the walls safely.

The parents responded immediately and quickly delivered enough bamboo to the construction site. Thanks to this outstanding cooperation, the volunteers were able to begin building the bamboo scaffolding right away. At the same time, they were given additional time to use the remaining construction materials before we move on to Phase 4 of the library project.

In the meantime, Jonathan will prepare a quotation for Phase 4. Here in the Netherlands, we continue to work hard to raise the necessary funds so that the next phase of construction can begin as soon as possible.

This is yet another wonderful example of the Filipino spirit of Bayanihan—a community coming together to turn a shared dream into reality. Every volunteer, every donation, and every act of support brings us one step closer to a library where children will be able to read, learn, and grow for many years to come.
