Construction Activities – July 28
Day 6 – Construction Continues
Although it was originally agreed that construction on the library would take place from July 20 through July 24, work has continued beyond that period. The incredible commitment of parents and volunteers has kept the project moving forward.
During the preparations and earlier meetings with the foreman and the volunteers, it was agreed that the first construction week would conclude on July 24. However, enthusiastic parents and volunteers continue to come forward and offer their help. Thanks to their dedication, construction is able to continue, and we can look forward to more exciting progress in the days ahead.
Through our group chat, we received a wonderful message from Jonathan Bernasol Orias:
“This afternoon I spoke with one of the parents. They have been informed that construction work will continue tomorrow, and they are willing to volunteer and help.”
Messages like this demonstrate the incredible commitment of the community. It is truly heartwarming to see people continue to volunteer their time and effort to help make the dream of a library for the children become a reality.
Today, another great deal of progress was made. A temporary bamboo scaffold has now been erected around the entire building, allowing the volunteers to safely continue work on the upper sections of the walls. In addition, several parents transported sand into the building so everything is ready for the next phase of construction.
Our heartfelt thanks go to the 13 dedicated volunteers who worked on the project today. We would also like to thank everyone who prepared and served the snacks and lunch. Thanks to the commitment of our volunteers, parents, and supporters, construction continues to progress smoothly, bringing the library one step closer to completion each day.
Once again, this day is a beautiful example of the Filipino spirit of Bayanihan—working together, helping one another, and building a brighter future for the children.
