Construction Activities – July 30

Day 8 – Construction Progress – An Important Milestone Reached

Today, work continued on the formwork around the entire building. If everything goes according to schedule, this phase of the work will be completed tomorrow. The volunteers have now reached the level of the top header (lintel), marking an important milestone in the construction of the library. This work was carried out by five dedicated volunteers.

The next phase will focus on preparing for the installation of the concrete beams, the columns, and the concrete pouring. This will be another significant step toward completing the building’s structural framework.

Materials Update

Construction materials are now beginning to run low:

  • The supply of concrete hollow blocks (CHBs) is almost exhausted.
  • The reinforcing steel bars (rebar) have been completely used.
  • Eight bags of cement remain in the school’s storage area for the construction site.

This update shows that the current construction phase is nearing completion and that preparations for the next phase are well underway.

Finally, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to Sir Antonio Cobarrubias and the kitchen volunteers for preparing the delicious snacks. We would also like to extend a special thank you to the Gutierrez family, especially Layne Gutierrez, for preparing a wonderful lunch for our hardworking volunteers.

On behalf of Stichting Ama Namin, we would like to thank everyone who continues to support this remarkable project. Through the dedication of our volunteers, the support of the local community, and the generosity of our donors, the dream of providing the children with their own library comes one step closer to becoming a reality every single day.
