Construction Update – July 20
Day 1
Many people came together to help with the preparations for the library construction. Food and drinks were provided for all volunteers, and everyone contributed in their own way. The foreman assigned the tasks and ensured that the work was carried out in an organized and efficient manner.
As shown in the photos, men and women worked side by side. In this remote area, modern construction equipment is rarely available, so most of the work is still done using traditional methods. Nearly everything is completed by hand, making the work physically demanding while also highlighting the dedication and commitment of the local community.
This teamwork is a wonderful example of the Filipino spirit of Bayanihan—a tradition of unity, solidarity, and helping one another without expecting anything in return. Step by step, hollow blocks were laid around the 10 × 7 meter building site, creating the foundation for a project that will benefit the entire community.
At the end of the day, a group photo was taken to honor our heroes, who continue to work tirelessly to make this project a success. Their dedication, perseverance, and teamwork are truly invaluable.
The Principal also requested the addition of a second entrance to the building. We gladly approved this change, as it offers several important benefits. An extra door will improve accessibility, provide a safer emergency exit, and make it easier for the children to enter and leave the library, improving both safety and the daily flow of students.
