On Saturday, June 8th, the celebration of Philippine Independence Day took place once again in Spaarnwoude. This annual event brings the Filipino community together on this special day. Alongside many performers and stalls, there is always an opportunity for a cheerful picnic where entertainment and conviviality merge.

Each year, the Kalayaan Fiesta Foundation selects a worthy cause that contributes to the Filipino community, with potential projects in the Philippines. During this event, we had the opportunity to promote our foundation with a stall that was provided to us free of charge. Throughout the day, a group of volunteers, led by Criselda Gaburno, manned our stall to inform everyone about our projects.

This year, as Stichting Ama Namin, we were honored to receive a donation of €1,000, which was accepted by Walter Labajo during the event. We are very grateful for this generous contribution and would like to thank the KFFN. This money will be extremely useful for the projects we have planned for the Bulbugan Elementary School in Oriental Mindoro. Our goal to order new whiteboards for all classrooms can now be realized.
