Poultry and Piggery Project

In cooperation with the Gutierrez family and several relatives of our volunteers, we started a special livelihood project to generate additional income for the construction of our future library. This project was designed as a true win-win situation: the proceeds not only support the building of the library, but also provide extra income and opportunities for the families involved.

We began with a small-scale poultry and piggery project. First, we carried out a trial period together with one family in order to gain experience and carefully evaluate the system. After that, we established clear agreements regarding the workflow, animal care, administration, and responsibilities. Our goal is to gradually build a sustainable and well-organized system step by step.

At the moment, we have purchased 50 chicks and are working according to a fixed schedule for purchasing, care, and selling to ensure continuity. In addition, we bought two young pigs. If all goes well, we expect them to become pregnant within a few months and eventually give birth to 10 or more piglets each.

Since this project is still in its starting phase, we believe it is important to properly document and evaluate everything. In the future, we also hope to share our experiences with other interested families and communities, so that more people can generate additional income in the same way. In this manner, we are not only building a library, but also creating opportunities, knowledge, and a better future for many families.
