Project: Thrift Shop Launched

The Story of KRINGLOWP – Anything under the SAN

In the Netherlands, we have the kringloop – a place where used items are given a second life. In the Philippines, we now do the same through our Ama Namin Foundation, but with our own twist: KRINGLOWP.
Why with a “W”? Because in the Philippines, the pronunciation would sound different if we used a double “O.” This way, it sounds right and looks cheerful and creative – exactly as we intended.

Our logo connects the Netherlands and the Philippines: the colors of both flags – including the royal orange – are incorporated into the design. The radiant sun with two feet stepping in and out of the circle symbolizes recycling and movement, while the three stars of the Philippine flag sit above the letter P, like a crown of pride and hope. Every detail – from the colors to the symbolism – has been carefully chosen.

The idea behind KRINGLOWP

We collect donated items in the Netherlands and Belgium – clothing, shoes, toys, school supplies, English books, kitchenware, and more – everything that fits into a balikbayan box. Sometimes we also purchase special finds from thrift stores, and often we receive extra donations once people hear about our cause.

When the boxes arrive in the Philippines, some items are sold at a very low price so families can afford them, while others are given away for free to those who need them most. Because KRINGLOWP is not just about reuse – it’s about sharing, helping, and creating opportunities.

Proceeds with a purpose

What makes KRINGLOWP truly special is that all proceeds go directly to our educational projects:

  • building a library where children can read and learn,

  • a toy library where play and creativity are accessible to everyone, and

  • a function room for lessons, meetings, and creative activities for both children and parents.

In this way, we invest not only in items but, more importantly, in the future of children.

Together, we make a difference

Thanks to the efforts of the Gutierrez family, our volunteers, donors, and everyone who contributes, KRINGLOWP continues to grow every day.
It stands for sustainability, solidarity, and hope – a continuous circle of giving and receiving.
