Shoes for Students
Recently, we had the joy of distributing shoes with much love and dedication to our Adopt-A-Learner Program (ALP) members in Sta. Maria Gloria and Mansalay.
Some time ago, we were busy preparing these shoes for shipment via the Balikbayan Box. We carefully made sure to collect the correct shoe sizes from all our ALP members. During this process, we were unexpectedly given the opportunity to send part of the shoes earlier than planned.
Our dedicated Yehey teams in Mansalay and Manila did a fantastic job in preparing the ‘back-to-school’ gifts on time. The shoes, generously donated by our dear friend from Nico Nico Shoes and Fashion, were received with deep gratitude. Thanks to Mr. J.—a kind customer and now a good friend of our foundation—we were able to send some of the shoes ahead of schedule. He kindly offered space in his luggage during his trip to the Philippines, quite literally making room for our project.
The shoes had originally been packed in the Balikbayan boxes, but as soon as we learned about this special opportunity, we quickly unpacked them to take advantage of the faster delivery.
The joy and gratitude of the children as they received their new pairs of shoes was truly priceless. Unfortunately, we were unable to find a suitable pair in time for three ALP members, but those shoes are already on their way and are expected to arrive in October.
Incredible – such a long distance and journey, from one region to another. The shoes seemed to fly rather than walk! Now, just a little more patience until October. At Christmas, many children will receive shoes from NicoNico.
Children are now, and in the future, walking towards their future with these shoes.
