The results after 1 year of Project Familie Gutierrez
Hooray!
After one year of working together with the Gutierrez family, we have achieved so much! We started with microcredit, grew from a small house to a bigger one, and from one small business to several enterprises. Now it’s time to reap the fruits of our hard work!
First, they received a small start-up capital through the foundation’s microcredit program.
After that, they joined us as volunteers, and in March they moved to a better location. There, they tried to run things their own way, but with our support we were able to give a real boost and improve everything.
Many new ideas followed, and we provided coaching almost daily.
In February, the gift shop “Yehey Anything Under the SAN” opened.
In July, the food court “Kain Tayo sa Labas, Tara!” followed.
And in early September, a beautiful location became available for our learning center and thrift shop.
Our concept is to create something for everyone: a place to learn, to earn, and to contribute. We want people to help each other, learn together, and motivate one another. The proceeds go to schools and children, while involving parents, supporting young people to finish their studies, and encouraging them to become creative and entrepreneurial.
Our next step?
We are starting an internet café with an art gallery and a cozy coffee/tea corner. Soon, people will also be able to give workshops there and make use of the internet. We want to turn it into a welcoming community space for everyone!
