Food Court Story – “Sa Labas Tayo Kain Tara!”

“Sa Labas Tayo Kain Tara!” is more than just a place to eat – it’s an open-air celebration of food, culture, and community. Born from the vision of bringing people together, our food court blends the flavors of the Philippines with the charm of the Netherlands. Under the shade of our humble outdoor setup, you’ll find steaming bowls of adobo and sinigang happily sitting alongside Dutch poffertjes, crispy kibbeling, and fusion creations like adobo croquettes and ube poffertjes.

Here, the menu changes daily, following our “what’s on the pot” philosophy – always fresh, always exciting. Parents from the community cook traditional dishes at home, local farmers bring in their vegetables, and our partners supply Dutch treats and souvenirs. Every meal served helps fund school renovations, provides supplies for children, and supports interest-free microcredit for small family businesses.

The food court is not just a place to dine – it’s a meeting place. Our souvenir corner offers a warm selection of artisanal local products that are perfect as pasalubong (take-home gifts) or as unique keepsakes. Think homemade delicacies like coconut jam, atchara, and local snacks, as well as handcrafted creations such as crocheted accessories, woven bags, wooden figurines, and Dutch clogs. Everything is made with care and skill by local artisans and parents from the community, so every purchase directly supports their livelihood.

Guests can browse, taste, and take home something truly special – whether for themselves or as a gift. They can also sip fresh mint-calamansi-ginger tea or snap photos at our windmill-and-nipa-hut photobooth. On special days, the cheerful sound of a ukulele adds to the warm and festive atmosphere.

We may be starting simply, with an outdoor setup and basic equipment, but the heart of “Sa Labas Tayo Kain Tara!” beats strong. Every bite and every purchase helps build a better future for our children and community – one plate and one handmade item at a time.
